Photo Gallery – Residential Solar Electricity System Installation
A solar power inverter is a type of electrical inverter that is made to change the direct current (DC) electricity from a photovoltaic array into alternating current (AC) for use with home appliances. In the photo below from left to right, you can see the inverter with the DC cutoff below. To the right of the inverter, you can see the AC cutoff and the Data communication box. To the far right, is your standard utility meter. The utility meter dial that typically spins forwards will actually spin backwards when your system is producing more energy than you are using, signifying that electricity is being fed back to the utility grid for your use when your system is not producing electricity, such as in the evening.
